HIPODROMO CHILE RACECOURSE

Arguably the most important racecourse in Chile, the Chilean capital of Santiago is the home of the Hipodromo Chile, a dirt course with a circumference of just 1665 metres.

The course was first established in the early years of 1900 with the first meeting taking place on 19th September 1904.

It hosts the most important Group 1 races in Chile, including the Gran Premio Hipodromo Chile and the Chilean St Leger. It also hosts the two classic Guineas races, the 1000 and 2000 Guineas. Other Group 1 races held at the track are the Tanteo de Potrancas, the Tanteo de Potrillos and the Gran Criterium Mauricio Serrano Palma.
